Fair, Neutral, and Final Resolutions

When the appraisal process reaches a deadlock, the "Umpire" is the final authority called upon to resolve the dispute. An Umpire acts as a quasi-judicial, neutral third party who reviews the positions of both the Policyholder's Appraiser and the Insurance Company's Appraiser to determine the fair value of the loss.

At Azeem & Associates, we provide professional Umpire services throughout Florida. With a deep understanding of Florida property law, construction costs, and the appraisal process, we provide the balanced perspective needed to bring even the most complex disputes to a close.

Why Appoint Anthony Azeem as Your Umpire?

An effective Umpire must be more than just neutral; they must be technically proficient. Anthony Azeem brings years of field experience and a reputation for integrity to the table.

  • Deep Technical Knowledge: We understand the nuances of Florida building codes, "line-of-sight" rules for matching materials, and the high costs of coastal construction in the Florida Keys and South Florida.

  • Impartiality & Integrity: Our role as an Umpire is to be a "fair judge" of the damage. We review the evidence from both sides without bias, ensuring the final Appraisal Award is based strictly on the facts and the policy language.

  • Timely Resolutions: We know that every day a claim remains open is a day the property owner isn't recovering. We move the process forward efficiently to reach a signed Award as quickly as possible.

  • Xactimate Proficiency: We utilize the same industry-standard estimating software as the carriers, allowing us to speak their "language" while ensuring no items are overlooked in the final valuation.

The Umpire Process

When selected as an Umpire for your appraisal, Azeem & Associates follows a structured, professional protocol:

  1. Review of Estimates: We analyze the competing estimates from both appraisers to identify exactly where the differences lie.

  2. Field Inspection: When necessary, we conduct an on-site inspection to personally verify the scope of damage and the quality of materials.

  3. Appraisal Meeting: We facilitate a meeting with both appraisers to discuss the discrepancies.

  4. The Award: If the appraisers cannot agree, we provide the tie-breaking signature on the Appraisal Award, legally finalizing the dollar amount of the loss.
